Fife’s Mindful Paramedics

What a great day working with Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) today at Playfield Institute, Fife. This was a follow up day eight weeks after their initial mindfulness training course. Aye four days over four weeks is an intense mindfulness training but these brave men and women took it head on with courage. The aim was to consolidate the teaching n learning and to share experiences.

Wonderful and humbling to hear how mindfulness practice and compassion training can impact on the people in the most stressful of jobs. It was inspiring to be with these men and women all day .

This was our third cohort with SAS in the last eighteen months. My colleague evaluated the impact on partipants via seven different measurements and what an impact!!! He used the results for his MSc at Aberdeen University, and received a First Class with Distinction fir this piece of work. A new cohort starting soon and I’m very honoured n proud to be part of the teaching team. Hats off to SAS Fife for believing that mindfulness could impact on the health n well being of their staff !
