Workshop

Cultivating an Awareness of Energy Moving through the Self and into our Relationships

10.00 – 3.00 pm Saturday 25 October

Queen’s Hall, Hall Row, Charlestown, KY11, UK

After 15 years of practice and inner work, I’ve really come to realise the experiences of life not only creates strong emotions and energy within our bodies; we also place that energy into our social relations and communities. I think most of the time many of us are not even conscious of doing so.

The purpose of this workshop is to recognise and connect to these emotions and energies through reflecting on personal experience of the Eight Worldly Winds (pleasure/pain; gain/loss; praise/blame; fame/disrepute). This will be achieved by drawing on practices from my recent studies.

The aim is to continue to develop compassion for ourselves and others as we experience the energies that come through the body and drive our social relationships and community engagement.

A potential outcome might be that participants begin to acknowledge skilful and unskilful ways of meeting this energy and being in the world.

It will be a day of meditation, reflection and movement, as well as sharing in small groups and writing exercises.

Cost £40.00

Concessions: £20.00 (Two places for Unpaid or those experiencing financial difficulty)

You will need a yoga mat, a blanket, a cushion, a notebook, a pen, and curiosity

Participation will be limited to 15 places.

Bill's teaching is soulful and gentle to the mind and healing to the body. I like his range of personal reflections and authentic sharing to bring alive issues and encourage me to reflect deeper and heal.

I love Bill’s teachings. I always feel comfortable, valued, and accepted. I feel like his courses are a kind of connection to a Sangha, and being amongst like minded people is amazing. He organises excellent venues, if sometimes a little cold! I feel like I can speak, be heard, and contribute openly without feeling too self conscious. More importantly, I can hear the experience and opinions of others and that helps my learning and understanding immensely. I am on a journey (and probably will be forever!) but Bill’s workshops help me to stay on track and facilitate my journey.

Really enjoyed the ‘workshop’ format, being able to engage and share experiences and reflections with different members of the group. The teaching part was so enlightening; it helped me to reflect on what’s going on for me and ways I might reframe my responses to my thoughts and actions.

It was a fab day, I was able to learn about myself and have connections with like minded people.
